REVIEW: Tony Lucca’s “Rendezvous with the Angels”
I’ve been dipping my toes as a contributor to the online music magazine, The Silver Tongue. The site is dedicated to delivering breaking music news tending to weigh towards the rock and metal genres. Given creative freedom, I thought I’d Folk it up and tip the scales towards the lighter spectrum. So exciting!
Tony Lucca released his sixth studio album on July 13th called Rendezvous with the Angels. I got a chance to review the much-awaited album right before it released:
THE SILVER TONGUE ONLINE REVIEW: TONY LUCCA’S RENDEZVOUS WITH THE ANGELS
Lucca’s new album has skyrocketed as high as #2 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts and #98 overall chart-dancing with Simon & Garfunkel and James Taylor (who?). My favorite cut on the album, ”Undertow,” has just been featured on Windows Media spotlight. ‘Bout time, Tony! Listen to “Undertow” here and lyrics below:
Tony Lucca’s “Undertow” – Lyrics
“I guess I’ve never been the type, dear
to keep my feet tied to the ground
But you speak your peace and made it clear, dear
It’s best that I not stick around
So I sing another love song for you
Chock full of things I’ve never said
Just like a dream that never came true
Some sparkling ocean up ahead
Undertow, please let me go
Cast this broken heart upon the shore
To mend and try and love again once more.
Countless the things I’ve held against myself
You never were quick to forgive
But those days afraid we’d fail each other
We promised never to re-live
Undertow, please let me go
Cast this broken heart upon the shore
To mend and try to love again once more”

Wonder Bryons powers activate!
Caught this from Bryon’s mention on Twitter and just listened to the song. Totally rad, Allison. I had a deep yearning to sit by a window with a good cup of coffee watching the rain stream down the glass.
I’ll second the gratitude for introducing me to new music. Much appreciated!
You guys are hilarious! Thanks for all the love. I’ll keep doing my best to keep your ears fresh. Thanks again!
I agree! It’s a “pin-drop” song.
